Pulsetta is made using naturally nutritious ingredients (peas and lentils). It contains no artificial additives, colours or preservatives, and so is 100% natural. Pulsetta is gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free.
Pulses such as peas and lentils have been proven to reduce the risk of developing certain cancers (American Institute for Cancer Research), and current UK government guidelines suggest eating at least two portions per week. As they are lacking from many peoples' diets, Pulsetta is an easy, convenient way to incorporate them. This also means that Pulsetta is a bread which contributes toward one of your 5-a-Day fruit and vegetables.
Pulsetta has won two Healthy Eating Awards (2013) and has been approved by NHS Scotland for serving to patients with allergies.
As Pulsetta contains no animal byproducts, meaning it is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, its protein comes from the pulses. Vegetable protein is recommended by nutritionists, as it does not contain the harmful cholesterol of animal products.
We are currently working with the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health on finding out the full nutritional profile of our foods and how they contribute towards a healthy diet.
